The HE-R9 uses dynamic drivers with a topology diaphragm designed to deliver detailed high-frequency response up to 35kHz, aided by a rare-earth magnet system and an advanced voice coil. The diaphragm surface features a nano-particle coating that HIFIMAN describes as enabling highly controllable acoustic performance. The headset is built with a leather-covered exterior on the headband and a high-grade memory foam interior for comfort, while the headband skeleton is made from solid steel for strength and durability. Large crimson ear cups are designed to provide ample internal space, helping the driver breathe and maintain sound clarity. When paired with the Bluemini R2R dongle (sold separately), the system offers a compact Bluetooth DAC/amp solution with HYMALAYA DAC components and low-energy operation for wireless high-resolution audio. The left socket supports dual configurations: a dual-sided unbalanced 3.5mm cable or a single-sided balanced 3.5mm cable, with optional Bluemini R2R connectivity enhancing wireless and wired performance.
