The FD15 introduces a high-end driver design that combines a magnalium diaphragm with a DLC gasket, aiming for a spacious, detailed, and transparent sound. It uses a large 13.8mm dynamic driver to increase diaphragm area for enhanced air movement and overall efficiency, contributing to a more expansive soundstage and prominent mid-range presence. The voice coil is sized at 8.6mm, improving transient response and power handling. An external 1.5T magnet design provides abundant and uniform energy delivery, supporting deeper bass extension, while the Tesla Valve patented bass enhancement design focuses on bass depth and integrity through precisely calculated channel geometries. The shell is crafted from 316L medical-grade stainless steel with powder metallurgy sintering, followed by hand-polishing and PVD plating for a premium finish. Included cables feature Furukawa high-purity monocrystalline copper and a hybrid silver/copper composition, with four large strands and 480 wires in total. Two swappable sound nozzles (red for bass and vocals, black for high-frequency detail) allow users to tailor the sound profile. These elements come together to offer a refined mid-range, clear treble, and substantial bass with a focus on sound purity and durability.
